Matt Maree, ActivOT Inner North Brisbane, is originally from South Africa.
After completing high school Matt moved to Australia to begin a career in hospitality and has also worked in various management roles in Australia and the UK. After returning to Australia, he decided that he wanted to do something more meaningful in life, which led him to occupational therapy.
Matt Maree completed his Bachelor of Occupational Therapy in 2018 at Australian Catholic University.
Matt provides occupational therapy services to Inner North Brisbane and its surrounding areas.
He is dedicated to providing compassionate care to help his clients achieve their goals and ultimately improve their quality of life.
Matt has a broad range of experience and has worked with clients of all ages with conditions such as stroke, dementia, head injury, brain tumours and cerebral palsy.
On a placement, Matt developed clinical skills allowing him to carry out interventions in the community, which included minor and major home modifications, equipment prescription and rehabilitation. During this placement, he found that there was no better place to help a client than in their own home and decided to pursue a career in the community.
Matt enjoys being able to provide a broad range of interventions as an occupational therapist in Brisbane and has a special interest in upper limb and cognitive rehabilitation. He is committed to lifelong learning allowing him to provide the best possible care in line with the most current research.
Outside of work, Matt is dedicated to maintaining his fitness and enjoys cooking for friends and family. Matt also loves the outdoors, movies and travelling.
