Medicare and private health fund rebates

ActivOT can provide Medicare subsidised occupational therapy services to eligible clients, as well as services to eligible veterans and war widows at no cost. We also provide occupational therapy for clients on a fee for service basis, whether or not you have private health insurance.

Medicare and private health fund rebates for occupational therapy

We participate in Team Care Arrangements under Medicare with a referral from your GP. There is a gap payable for services, depending on the services we provide.

More information about Medicare funded occupational therapy services is available on the Allied Health under Medicare fact sheet.

Private occupational therapy services do not require a referral. This includes services you can claim through private health insurance “extras” cover. Rebates vary between health funds so we encourage you to contact your health fund to discuss your level of cover.

DVA Health Cards (Gold and White) are accepted as payment for occupational therapy services upon a valid referral from your GP or hospital discharge planner.
