Katie Yeates (B Occ Thy (Hons))

ActivOT South Burnett

Katie Yeates graduated with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy in 2001 from James Cook University, Townsville and has worked in Australia and overseas before settling in Kingaroy in 2007.

She has always enjoyed practicing occupational therapy in rural settings and working with people across all age groups. She appreciates the connection with people while developing an understand of the events and environments which shape their function.

Katie has a keen interest in helping people meet their goals and believes in providing meaningful services to her clients. She has vast experience with home modifications, equipment recommendations and trials, and working with clients with degenerative, neurological or psychosocial conditions.  She enjoys thinking out of the box to provide solutions for clients to maximise function, safety and pursue their goals. Katie also has experience in:

  • aged care
  • palliative care
  • indigenous health
  • post acute services

She values the client’s central role in their own health journey and aims to reflect their perception of needs and support ideas in reporting.

When she’s not providing occupational therapy services in the South Burnett region in QLD, Katie enjoys spending time with her young family (aka dropping to after-school activities), doing Zumba or groaning at pilates.
