Katherine Simpson (B OT)

Katherine Simpson, ActivOT North Adelaide, completed her Bachelor of Occupational Therapy Degree at the University of South Australia in 2017.

Prior to commencing occupational therapy, Katherine completed a diploma in remedial massage and worked as a remedial massage therapist for three years.

Katherine has also worked at a residential aged care facility as a lifestyle assistant prior to commencing occupational therapy.

Following Katherine’s completion of her occupational therapy degree she worked at a rehabilitation hospital, with a variety of different clientele and conditions enabling her to broaden her skills in the rehabilitation field.

Katherine has always had an interested and has loved working with individuals to maximise their independence both home and in the community.

Katherine has had experience working with clients who have had elective surgery such as hip and knee replacements, cardiac surgery and cerebrovascular accidents. Katherine has been able to develop cognitive re-training programs along with upper limb reconditioning programs to assist people with gaining function cognitively and physically following medical events.

Katherine has joined the ActivOT team in 2019 to provide community based care to enable people within the community to maximise their independence and quality of life. She provides in-home occupational therapy services in North Adelaide.

Outside of work, Katherine enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, along with spending time with family friends. Katherine also enjoys new sport and fitness challenges such as golf and running.
