Natasha Chajka (B App Sc OT)

Natasha Chajka, ActivOT Northfield, was born in Western Australia and was raised in Adelaide. She completed her studies in Occupational Therapy at the University of South Australia in 2007. Since graduating she has worked in a variety of settings.

Natasha’s first role involved injury management and prevention services in the occupational health industry. Services she provided included:

• pre-employment assessments
• job analyses
• activities of daily living assessments
• ergonomic assessments
• manual handling training.

From there, Natasha was appointed senior occupational therapist, involving the addition of medico-legal assessments. In 2010, she was promoted to team leader with additional responsibilities including quality assurance and continuous improvement, staff supervision training and customer relations.

Natasha’ more recent experience includes pain management education and developing functional work conditioning and restoration programs in a multi-disciplinary setting.

As an occupational therapist in the Northfield area, Natasha has worked in the aged care sector, in both residential facilities and in the community. Services delivered include:

• manual handling training (for clients and staff)
• assessing staff competencies
• home modifications
• equipment prescription
• development and facilitation of home exercise programs
• aged care activity programs.

Natasha Chajka is committed to working with clients to use their lived experience and expertise to achieve their goals. She is a client centred occupational therapist who is passionate about assisting clients to lead enriched lives and maintain their independence.

When not working, Natasha values family time and being a mum to two young children (who manage to keep her on her toes!). Natasha also loves exploring Australia’s unique landscape and history and is interested in photography.
