Amy Wigmore, ActivOT Blackwood

Amy Wigmore, ActivOT Blackwood, graduated from the University of South Australia (UniSA) with a Bachelor of Health Science, Human Movement in 2002.

She was a member of UniSA’s inaugural intake of Master Of Occupational Therapy (Graduate Entry) in 2005.

Since graduating, Amy has worked as an occupational therapist across vocational rehabilitation, sub acute and acute hospital settings.

Most recently, she has been focussed on spinal injuries, but also has extensive experience with and a passion for oncology, palliative care and amputee management and rehabilitation.

Amy’s experience also extends to brain injury and neurosurgery recovery, as well as complex trauma, geriatrics, renal, cardiology, thoracics and orthopaedics.

Amy has extensive skills in:

  • equipment (assistive technology) prescription
  • home assessment
  • functional assessment
  • pressure care
  • home modifications
  • splinting and hand therapy
  • discharge planning.

Amy is a passionate advocate for her participants and their carers and support teams, with a strong focus on maximising independence and achieving client-driven goals.

She has a background in performing arts and sports, marrying a professional sportsman and fellow allied health clinician.  Her children love all sports, and her family’s summers are full of baseball and softball, while winters are for football!

When she is not providing mobile occupational therapy services in Blackwood, South Australia, Amy loves trips with her family in their caravan, kayaking, the beach and enjoying family time.
