Occupational Therapy
for Veterans

Serving Veterans since 2007

ActivOT practitioners actively work with the Veteran community to meet their unique and specialised needs. It is our privilege to serve those who served our country, as well as their spouses and dependants.

In-home support for Veterans

ActivOT Occupational Therapists are registered providers of services for Veterans and war widows under the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA).

In order for our occupational therapists to provide services for Veterans, we need a D904 referral from your GP or hospital discharge planner, or from DVA directly.

FAQs for Veterans

  • What is mobile occupational therapy?
Mobile occupational therapy means we come to you at home, school, work, or anywhere you're comfortable. This approach allows for more personalised, practical support in your everyday environment. We prefer this approach because it means you don’t have to figure out how to make the therapy ‘work’ at home. Learn more about how mobile occupational therapy works with and for your life here.
  • Do you offer occupational therapy for adults and children?
Yes, we support people across their lifespan. ActivOT practitioners offer paediatric occupational therapy, as well as for adults and older Australians, depending on the therapist's experience and interests. You can view your local therapist’s profile here.
  • How can I find an occupational therapist near me?
We have occupational therapists in QLD, NSW, VIC, SA and WA. Discover your local ActivOT Occupational Therapist and see how they can help you with your goals.
  • Is ActivOT registered with the NDIS?
Yes, many ActivOT therapists are NDIS registered or work with NDIS self-managed and plan-managed participants. Get in touch to find out how we can support your NDIS plan or to speak with a therapist who works in this space.
  • Do I need a referral to see an Occupational Therapist?
No, you can complete your own referral to work with our practitioners. Veterans are the only exception – if that’s you, here’s what you need to know about the DVA process. To start the referral process, head to our online referral form here. If you have questions before you get started, please feel free to get in touch with our team at connect@activot.com.au or on 1800 228 868.
