About Katie

Katie from ActivOT South Burnett is a passionate occupational therapist committed to delivering services focused on each individual’s goals and needs. She firmly believes in allowing clients to tell their own stories to gain an understanding of how their conditions and situations have impacted their everyday lives. This helps Katie to gain a more holistic understanding of each person’s experiences, needs and perspectives. It is important for the client to feel heard and validated. She was a senior occupational therapist in Queensland Health for many years and has experience with a wide variety of diagnoses and health conditions. She provides services for people above 16 years of age, including occupational therapy support for palliative care patients. Katie’s working career has included a variety of positions interstate and overseas in the United Kingdom. She was a senior occupational therapist in Queensland Health for many years and has experience with a wide variety of diagnoses and health conditions including clients with: Neurodivergence, including Autism Spectrum Disorder Rehabilitation needs Chronic disease management Aged care Spinal cord injury Dementia support Other neurological disabilities Katie works part-time and lives locally in the South Burnett with her husband and two children. Katie splits her time between working as an Occupational Therapist and raising her family. When she’s not working, she’s enjoying the outdoors, finding a cute coffee shop or has her nose in a good book.
