Talia Dent (she/her) is a playful and creative neurodivergent paediatric Occupational Therapist providing a range of evidence-based therapies supporting children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual Disability, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, sensory processing and mental health diagnoses.
She strives to build trusting and supportive relationships with children and families. She is an advocate for neurodiversity affirming practices, trauma-informed care, self-advocacy and assessment and interventions targeting meaningful client-centred goals.
She thinks outside the box and enjoys getting to know an individual’s interests and passions, incorporating a playful and creative approach to support meaningful engagement and interventions. She also offers group programs.
Talia supports children and young people with an array of functional impacts including:

Talia take a collaborative approach to her practice, engaging in multi-disciplinary and interagency advocacy and consultation. She places a strong emphasis on providing client-centred practice with an understanding that a client is their own expert and works with their best interests in mind.
She is passionate about supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, providing culturally safe practices, learning from and working collaboratively with children, families, communities and other service providers. She aims to highlight and incorporate cultural needs and goals and creatively adapt clinical practice to meet the holistic needs of clients and services.
Talia is described by children and their families as a supportive, creative, relatable, caring, practical, comprehensive and reflective client-centred advocate of high integrity.
Away from her business, she enjoys quality time with her school-aged children and her husband engaging in creative and nature-based activities, fitness, travel, practicing Vipassana Meditation and long bubble baths. She is an enthusiastic festive decorator and regularly attends a variety of community events – all with a camera in hand.
