About Victoria

Victoria Nelson, ActivOT Physiotherapy Kilkenny, has over 20 years of experience working as a physiotherapist within the disability sector.  She has worked in SA, NSW, Queensland, Ireland and the UK, in various community, hospital and rehabilitation settings and has provided services under several different funding programs, including the NDIS and Support At Home.  She has worked with clients of all ages, covering paediatric, adult, and aged care. Victoria’s experience includes working within specialist teams for adults with intellectual disabilities. In these roles, she has worked with clients with both physical and behavioural challenges and gained additional skills using behaviour support plans, Rebound Therapy, Key Word signing, and coordinating an Orthotics clinic. She has also worked with Post-Polio Therapy services, providing strategies for long-term management and energy conservation.   Her experience also includes wheelchair services, spasticity management, orthopaedic management and rehabilitation post-operatively.   At the core of Victoria's service delivery is a passion for supporting clients and their families to achieve meaningful goals and enjoy a better quality of life.  She enjoys learning from her clients to further improve her work, and places great value in collaborating with other health professionals Outside of work, Victoria enjoys spending time with her young family, travelling, running and going to the beach.

Victoria's Professional Background

Victoria graduated from the University of South Australia in 2002 with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy. She has since supported clients across the lifespan in a variety of clinical settings. Victoria has completed training to be able to prescribe car seats through Mobility and Accessibility for Children and Adults Ltd (MACA)
