About Jo

Joanne Skelton, ActivOT Joondalup, is a passionate and experienced Occupational Therapist with over a decade of clinical experience across hospital and community settings. She brings a strong values-driven approach to her work, combining professional expertise with compassion Joanne provides evidence-based, goal-focused therapy that is tailored to the individual. Her approach is centred on empowering clients to participate in meaningful daily activities, optimise their independence, and support them to live their best and most joyful lives. With lived experience of the challenges faced by veterans and their families, Joanne is a committed member of the veteran community and is passionate about supporting ex-service personnel and their loved ones. She considers it a privilege to work alongside those who have served, helping them maintain independence and engage in meaningful life roles. Clients can expect Joanne to go above and beyond. She builds strong therapeutic relationships based on trust, respect, and genuine care. She works with clients of DVA, and Home Care Packages, NDIS, and ICWA and provides services across Perth’s northern suburbs, as well as some regional work. Outside of work, Joanne loves a mindful walk in nature and practices gratitude daily — she’s quick to pack up the caravan for a spontaneous getaway whenever she gets the chance. She has a great family she adores spending time with, and her favourite escape is exploring the wild beauty of Scotland with her Scottish husband. Whether it’s adventuring, recharging, or just enjoying life’s little moments, Joanne brings that same energy, curiosity and heart to her OT work every day.
