About Danielle

Danielle Spencer, ActivOT Highbury, developed an interest in neurological impairment, through personal circumstance, which has been maintained throughout her career by way of experience and professional development. Danielle continues to work across a broad spectrum of disabilities and with various funding agencies including DVA and My Aged Care to enable people to remain in their homes throughout their life process. Danielle is committed to ongoing Professional Development to provide a high-quality service, working with people in their own homes to gain an understanding of who they are and what is important for them to reach their goals. Outside of work, Danielle spends time with her family, is a committee member of a large community sporting club and enjoys the outdoors.

Danielle's Professional Background & Contact Details

Danielle completed her bachelor of Applied Science in Occupational Therapy in 1995. Soon after graduating, Danielle worked in North Queensland, which provided the experience of working with people with a wide range of disabilities and diverse backgrounds, providing her with an expansive base in the Occupational Therapy profession. From tropical Queensland, Danielle travelled to the UK. There, she spent nearly six years in hospital and community settings, working with people to facilitate independence and functional ability. Upon returning to Adelaide, Danielle focused further on neurological disability and falls prevention, presenting at local and interstate conferences in the falls prevention arena.
