About Roy

Roy George, ActivOT Caloundra, has worked as an OT in several different countries including India, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Canada, New Zealand and finally Australia. He has clinical experience in paediatrics and during his time in Oman, Roy assisted in a project for the World Health Organisation in the rehabilitation of school aged children affected with Guillain-Barré Syndrome. As a result of his extensive travel, Roy is able to speak not only English but also Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada, and Hindi. He has a special interest in neurology and orthopaedics and has worked with individuals with chronic arthritis, intellectual disabilities, spinal injury and dementia, as well as those requiring rehabilitation after stroke. Roy provides services to Aged Care and DVA clients, as well as NDIS participants. A collaborative and person-centered approach is a priority for Roy to ensure great outcomes for clients. Outside of work, Roy is a very family and community-oriented person and he enjoys spending time with his wife, their two daughters and three grandchildren. He enjoys travelling, learning about different cultures, cooking, church and community participation.

Roy's Professional Background & Contact Details

Roy graduated from Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh, UK in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy. He has over 35 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist in almost all speciality areas. As his career has progressed, Roy has remained passionate about supporting individuals through the lifespan and has even spent time with the Royal Flying Doctors of Australia from the Broken Hill (NSW) base, providing services to rural Aboriginal community settings.
