Ying Song (M OT)

Ying Song, ActivOT Port Pirie, began her healthcare journey in the United States, where she pursued her Bachelor of Nursing. After an exchange program in Australia, she made the decision to relocate and call Australia home, completing her degree at the University of Adelaide. Her passion for holistic care led her to attain a Master of Occupational Therapy.
Throughout her career, Ying has embraced diverse roles, including serving as a Clinical Nurse at South Australia’s largest disability organisation, where she supported individuals with complex needs. She also excelled as an Acting Care Manager at a 120-bed nursing home, focusing on quality improvements and clinical care. These experiences have equipped her to work with a variety of clients under funding streams such as:
- NDIS
- My Aged Care
- DVA
- Workplace Assessments.
Fluent in both English and Mandarin, Ying is committed to empowering clients, enhancing their quality of life, and encouraging collaboration with their families and care teams. Areas of particular interest for Ying include:
- Functional assessments
- Housing assessments
- Assistive technology prescription
- Equipment prescription.
Beyond her professional life, Ying and her husband enjoy walking their golden retriever, Bobo, who keeps them on their toes with her love for adventure (and the occasional muddy puddle).
