Katie de Zeeuw, ActivOT Semaphore, completed a Bachelor of Applied Science in Occupational Therapy in 2005 at the University of South Australia.

Katie has worked as an Occupational Therapist since 2006, with over 17 years of experience working with clients with high and complex mental health needs, across a range of community and inpatient mental health services.  More recently, she has worked in the NDIS space since 2021.

She has completed post-graduate studies in Youth Mental Health, completing a post graduate Diploma in Youth Mental Health Services at Melbourne University in 2014.

Katie has worked extensively in senior clinician and leadership roles, which have enhanced her skills in working collaboratively and cohesively with clients, carers and other supports and services to achieve the best possible outcomes for clients.

Katie’s specific clinical areas of expertise include:

  • Clients experiencing mental health conditions – with specific expertise in Psychotic disorders, mood disorders and personality disorders.
  • Clients with high and complex support needs, dual diagnoses and comorbidities (including substance abuse).
  • Clients with a forensic history, with extensive experience working with individuals with correctional service involvement.
  • Working with young people (16 and up) experiencing mental illness.

She is passionate about supporting clients to identify meaningful goals and support them to achieve these, to lead a fulfilled life.

Katie is a registered NDIS provider.  She offers both assessment and individual therapy, dependent on client needs.

When she’s not working, Katie loves spending time at the beach with her daughters and Cavoodle, Milly, and cooking up a storm in the kitchen.
