Jane Brennan (M of OT)
ActivOT Copper Coast
Jane Brennan, ActivOT Copper Coast, was born and raised in country Victoria and relocated to South Australia in 2014.
Jane was awarded her Masters in Occupational Therapy at the University of South Australia in 2015. Jane originally studied psychology at the University of Melbourne in 2006.
She built her career in training and education, coordinating field placements and supporting students at a Melbourne-based higher education institutions. She also contributed to the development of national vocational competencies in early childhood education and education support.
Jane has always been passionate about assisting individuals and their caregivers to achieve and maintain independence in their every day life in accordance to their own goals. This passion is what sparked her decision in 2013 to pursue a career change into occupational therapy.
Prior to joining the ActivOT team she worked predominantly within the military and ex military/veteran world, delivering the Department of Veteran Affairs rehabilitation program and occupational therapy services within the home, community and workplace. This work included ergonomic and workplace assessments, home and activities of daily living assessments.
Jane is a dedicated occupational therapist who joined the ActivOT team in 2019. She serves her community in the Copper Coast region of the Yorke Peninsula by providing a range of occupational therapy services to the adult disability population. These services include:
- Home safety assessments
- Functional capacity evaluations
- Assistive technology recommendations
- Home modification assessments
- Workplace assessments
- Sensory processing interventions
In her role, Jane collaborates with other specialist occupational therapists who visit the region to ensure that her clients receive comprehensive and personalised care. She works within various areas such as the Department of Veterans Affairs, National Disability Insurance Scheme, and Aged Care Home Care Package schemes, demonstrating her commitment to serving diverse populations.
Outside of her professional life, Jane enjoys spending quality time with her family, including her two energetic daughters and their family Spoodle, Nala.
