Alethea Sifis, ActivOT Central Adelaide, completed a Bachelor of Applied Science in Occupational Therapy (OT) from the University of South Australia in 2001.
She has over 20 years of OT experience working across multiple practice areas both within acute and subacute hospital settings, private practice, and community health including:
- occupational rehabilitation
- injury management & prevention
- community aged care
- short-term rehabilitation.
Alethea has extensive experience in delivering services including:
- functional capacity assessments
- activities of daily living assessments
- assistive technology (equipment) assessments
- equipment prescription
- minor home modifications
- pain management
- manual handling training
- ergonomic assessments
- adult rehabilitation
- complex client management
- service coordination.
A confident and experienced communicator, Alethea is a strong client advocate, with a proven track history of cultivating relationships and removing obstacles to build trust and provide creative problem solving to help her clients achieve their goals.
As an Occupational Therapist in central Adelaide, Alethea supports consumer directed care, and is dedicated to empowering her clients to make informed decisions to optimise their independence, health, wellbeing, and improve their quality of life. Alethea takes a “nothing about me without me” approach to client care and works collaboratively with her clients every step of the way, to assist them to remain living independently in their own home for as long as possible.
Outside of work, Alethea enjoys time with her friends and family. She is passionate about the arts and live music scene, gardening, and everything outdoors – such as hiking, camping, and she is never far away from the nearest beach.
